Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

CaseCompass is operated by PartFive LLC (“we,” “us”). We built it on a simple idea: the safest data is the data we never collect. We keep the minimum needed to track your case, and nothing more. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.

Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to track your case and notify you:

Information we do not collect

We do not collect any of the following:

The nicknames you give your cases (like “Mom” or “My green card”) stay on your own device and never reach our servers.

How we use your information

We use your information only to run the service:

To retrieve your status, we send your receipt number to USCIS through its official Case Status API. USCIS is the source of the status information.

How we share information

We do not sell your data — not for profit, and not in any other monetary transaction. We do not share it with advertisers or marketers, and we do not run third-party ad trackers.

We share data only with a small set of service providers that help us run the app, and only so they can provide that service to us:

These providers are bound by contract to use your information only to provide their service to us. They may not use or disclose your information — including any de-identified, anonymized, or pseudonymized data — for any other purpose without your active consent, and they are bound to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Your choices, and the risks of sharing

Contributing to our anonymized time estimates is optional. You can turn it on or off at any time in Settings. Because your identifier is removed first, the benefit is better estimates for everyone, and the risk to you is minimal. We do not collect genetic or family-history data, so nothing you share can expose information about your relatives or anyone else.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we hold, to request that we delete it, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, email support@casecompass.app.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data only while your account is active. If your account stays inactive for 24 months, we may delete it and its data; where we can, we will email you first. You can delete everything sooner at any time (see below).

Deleting your data and closing your account

In the app, go to Settings and choose Delete everything. This permanently deletes your account and all of your data from our servers. It takes effect immediately, and in any case within 30 days. There is no soft-delete, and this is also how you close your account. To remove a waitlist email, write to support@casecompass.app and we will delete it.

Security and data breaches

We protect your data with access controls and encryption in transit, and each user can see only their own data. If a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you without undue delay — by email or in the app — and tell you what happened and what steps, if any, you can take.

If our business changes

If PartFive LLC is acquired, or the app is transferred or sold, or the business ends, we will require the new owner to honor this Privacy Policy. If they will not, we will notify you first and give you the chance to delete or download your data before any transfer. We will always notify you of a change in ownership.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy or our Terms of Service, we will notify you, give you a plain-language summary of what changed, and ask for your consent before the change applies to your data.

Not affiliated with USCIS

CaseCompass is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to USCIS or any government agency.
