CaseCompass Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-10. Draft — owner/legal review required before public launch.
CaseCompass is operated by PartFive LLC. (“CaseCompass” below refers to this app.)
CaseCompass is built on a simple idea: **the best data breach is the one that's
impossible.** We store the minimum needed to track your case, and nothing else.
What we store
- Your USCIS receipt number(s), form type, and filing location.
- The status history USCIS publishes for your case.
- Your notification preferences (quiet hours, digest timing).
- Optionally, document metadata you choose to add — a document type and an
expiration date. We never store document images, scans, or photos.
What we do NOT store
- No names, Social Security numbers, A-numbers, passport numbers, or addresses.
- No document images — ever.
- Case labels ("Mom," "Evgenia") live only on your device, never on our
servers, not even to personalize notifications.
No account required to start
You can track a case without creating an account. When you choose to save your
cases, we use an anonymous or email-based sign-in — we still store only the data
above.
Helping the predictions (opt-in)
To estimate how long steps typically take, we compute statistics from
anonymized, aggregated case timelines. Your identifier is stripped before
any timeline contributes. You can turn this off any time in Settings; it's
clearly disclosed when you sign up.
Notifications
Notifications are personalized on your device. Our servers send only your
receipt number and neutral text; your device adds your label locally.
Deleting everything
Settings → Delete everything performs a true, permanent deletion of your
account and all your data from our servers. There is no soft-delete.
We sell nothing
We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party ad trackers.
Not affiliated with USCIS
CaseCompass is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to
USCIS or any government agency.
